Long Story Short
Why this product?
Tesla provided a hilariously small rearview mirror for the hilariously small field of view out the rear window. This gives you a wider angle of view to see your backseat and out the rear side windows as well.
Why this brand?
No particular brand affinity here, other than the fact that this product specifically has a more aesthetic appeal for me with a less boxy shape.
Any regrets?
None. I feel way safer since I can see more around me.
Long Story Long
Tesla’s relentless focus on only providing the absolute minimum necessary physical product and replacing functionality with electronics is evident in the rearview mirror as well. The rear hatch window is a tiny porthole to see behind you, and the mirror is designed to only give you enough visibility to see out that crevice. I assume the thought here is that the external cameras will supplement your view, but since I am a partial luddite that refuses to give up on mirrors, I want something that gives me a broader field of view and leverages my existing skills of checking mirrors vs. checking screens. A few of my use cases:
Since the mirror is panoramic, I can see out my side windows as well to check my blind spots regularly - sometimes I want to see who’s there even if I’m not changing lanes, and to activate the cameras, you’d have to signal (or turn on the camera view). The only limitation here is when there’s a front seat passenger, then their head blocks the blind spot view, so it’s back to camera or quick head turn.
The panoramic view lets me see into my backseat, which is especially useful for those with kids.
The larger form factor provides additional sun blockage!

What I like:
Super easy to install and super functional!
What I don’t like:
It’s a tiny learning curve to figure out the distance of things since the panoramic view is a fisheye effect, but you get used to it. Every so often, if it’s not positioned quite right, I hit it with the sun visor, but it’s an easy adjustment.
Installation Tips
If you can put a case on a phone, you can do this no problem.
Alternatives
JoyTutus Square Panoramic Mirror (JoyTutus Panoramic Rearview Mirror - square)
Pretty much the same as above, just a symmetrical rectangle if that’s your thing.
Verivue Square Panoramic Mirror - blue tint (Verivue Panoramic Rearview Mirror - blue)
This version adds a blue tint in case your eyes are extra sensitive to light at night. Everything is still easily visible during the day.
