Why this product?

Nothing in the stock cupholder holds anything still, so cups rattle and coins/small objects bounce around. This also provides a slot to hold your key card if you need it.

Why this brand?

Generally provides a clean look and the color is complementary.

Any regrets?

It shows a logo, which is not ideal, and the iconography inside is indecipherable, but not deal breakers.

Long Story Long

Tesla’s stock cupholders are not quite cupholders, they are basic cylinder cutouts that are capable of surrounding some cups. You may notice that there’s a good amount of space between your cups and the sides of the cylinders, which means that your beverages slide or lean as you’re driving around, which clearly is not optimal. Also, if you’re the type to toss loose items into cupholders for storage, you’ll notice those thing bouncing and rattling against the hard surfaces of the cylinder.

This product hugs and mutes all those problems above. The nubs inside the cylinders hold your drinks tighter and give you more confidence that they’re not going to go flying, and the silicone material silences all but the jangliest of miscellany that you want to throw in there.

Last, if you’re the type to regularly drive around with your key card (no judgments here!), there is a slight lip on the product meant to hold the keycard in place.

What I don’t like:

I haven’t had this problem, but other folks have complained that this insert makes the holes too small to hold their particular brand of bottle/cup.
